Going Rogue

A Lull
On January 20, I logged the following notes:
12:10 PM. Rather than wander in search of ink, I am trying something else. Staying put, here in front of the Amtrak Departures board in Penn Station, and seeing what walks to me.
I have only successfully met 2 of the inked nation in the last 27 days, and I'd like to resume posting more regularly.
I figure, sooner or later, this wintry drought will end.
12:20 A woman walks by with two interlinking gray hearts behind her right ear. I hesitate and decide not to approach her as she walks by. The tattoo didn't speak to me.
12:35 Still nothing. 5 minutes left in my little experiment.
12:36 Ed Hardy baseball cap.
Experiment Fail.

Malin Akerman Tattoos
Malin Akerman is the delightful Swedish born celebrity movie actress and model, known for roles in such movies as, The Proposal and Couples Retreat.
Malin Akerman has a couple of lovely tattoos on her body.
On her upper back she has a gorgeous lotus flower along with the Tibetan Sanskrit which means "to play." The lotus flower is a key symbol of the Buddhist culture, for which Malin was raised.
She also has the initial of her husbands last name on the inside of her right wrist, which is Z for Zincone.

Daniel Returns with Another Machine Head Tattoo
Last month I featured a leg tattoo belonging to Daniel, who was visiting from Australia. At the time he alluded to the fact that he had a pretty cool chest piece, as well. Understandably, he wasn't about to whip his shirt off in Penn Station in December.
Anyway, Dan was kind enough to send me this picture. Although not the best quality from a photographic standpoint, it's clear enough to see what a great tattoo this is:
The inspiration from this art, also related to the band Machine Head, can be seen on their main web page here. Like his other tattoo featured previously, these pieces were done by Jonny at Abandoned Art in the Wanneroo section of Perth, Australia.
Daniel says they took two sittings and about five hours to complete.

Half demon half dragon tattoo design
Another piece fantastic work from Andy Shou! The horn of demon and the body of the dragon connect seamlessly. The visual balance and the overpowering feel are also impressive!

Libra tattoo II
This is a typical Libra tattoo for men. The things around the zodiac sign may represent the star.
Tommy Lee Tattoos
Tommy Lee is the great musician, drummer and founding member of the heavy metal group Mötley Crüe and Methods of Mayhem. He is also well known for being the former husband of Pamela Anderson and father of her two children.
Tommy Lee is perhaps the most tattooed celebrity out there, with well over forty tattoos, if you count all the designs within his two sleeves.
The tattoos on his right arm include, a large long leopard, a skull wearing a top hat, a dragon on his bicep, the cartoon character mighty mouse, along with several other designs.
The tattoos his left arm include, two rather large koi fish, a white daisy flower, among many other colorful tattoo designs.
Tommy Lee has two huge tribal lion heads on his chest, the word "Mayhem" on his upper abdomen, and a lotus flower along with the number 30 on his lower abdomen.
On his back, is a magnificently large tribal tattoo design which nearly covers his entire back. The design almost appears to be wings of some sort.
He has a colorful star on each hand, plus the names of his sons on both wrists "Brandon" and "Dylan".
Some of Tommy Lee's other tattoo designs include, a large crow on a withered branch on his right thigh, a band of interesting symbols on his left thigh, the lips of an ex girlfriend behind his left ear and flames on the right side of his neck.
Tommy Lee probably has even more tattoo designs, in hidden areas which we'll never see, or would ever want to see, for that matter.

Eric Shows His Dedication to Being a First Responder
In what was the first new instance of inkspotting outside of a tattoo shop since Christmas Eve, I met Eric in Penn Station and he shared this, the newest of his four tattoos:
Eric explained that he is a volunteer firefighter and EMT out on Long Island, and he wanted a tattoo to represent both sides of his service to his community.
This was done by Debbie at Skin Deep Tattoo in Levittown, New York.
